Pure Brightness — 清明 (Qīngmíng)

Pure Brightness (清明, Qīngmíng) is the 5th of the 24 solar terms, at the Sun's ecliptic longitude of 15°. It is a sectional term (節): in the BaZi calendar it opens a month and changes the month pillar of a chart.

Customs

“Pure brightness” — the main day of remembrance: families tend ancestral graves, leave food and paper offerings and walk in the countryside (“treading the green”). Cold dishes, a legacy of the neighbouring Cold Food Festival, and in the south mugwort rice dumplings.
