Summer Solstice — 夏至 (Xiàzhì)
Summer Solstice (夏至, Xiàzhì) is the 10th of the 24 solar terms, at the Sun's ecliptic longitude of 90°. It is a mid-term (中氣): it falls in the middle of a BaZi month and does not change the month pillar.
Customs
The longest day; from here the light wanes — in the tradition, the turn from yang, the bright and active phase, toward yin, the quiet and receptive one. Customs: eating noodles (“tasting the new grain”), weighing oneself, and in old times offering to the Earth and resting from work in the heat.
