Major Heat — 大暑 (Dàshǔ)

Major Heat (大暑, Dàshǔ) is the 12th of the 24 solar terms, at the Sun's ecliptic longitude of 120°. It is a mid-term (中氣): it falls in the middle of a BaZi month and does not change the month pillar.

Customs

The peak of summer heat and the “dog days”. Customs: herbal tea, lychees and ginger, eating pineapple in Taiwan, and in coastal Zhejiang seeing off the “Major Heat boat”, a wooden boat laden with offerings sent out to sea.
