Major Cold (大寒, Dàhán) is the 24th of the 24 solar terms, at the Sun's ecliptic longitude of 300°. It is a mid-term (中氣): it falls in the middle of a BaZi month and does not change the month pillar.

“Major cold” — the last term of the year. Customs: seeing off the Kitchen God with sweets, cleaning the house, hanging red couplets, stocking up for the Lunar New Year; two weeks on comes the start of spring.
